British champion Freda James' white Slazenger's laminated tennis racquet, circa 1933, FJ initials stamped on the wedge, the finishing varnish is heavily crazed and there is some loss It is unusual to come across tennis racquets from the period with such links to players. Players endorsed to Slazenger had their initials stamped on the wedge at the time of manufacture. Fred James later Hammersley won the US doubles championship with Betty Nuthall in 1933 and the Wimbledon doubles with Kay Stammers in 1935 and 1936.
