Memorabilia relating to the career of Stan Mellor MBE, including his first professional jockey's licence issued on 8th August 1954 by the Steward's of the National Hunt Committee; Mellor's income and expenditure account for 1954-55 showing he made a net profit for the season of £113 pounds,19 schillings 6 pence; a dinner menu with hand written speech notes for his second champion jockey award, a group of hand written records kept my Mellor during his riding and training career detailing all his runners and results and a small selection of photographs including his first official press association photograph, dated 1959 (this being a reprint) and a photograph of Stan Mellor on the day he won his first Champion Jockey title, also two rare colour action photographs of Mellor, a superb press photograph portraying Stan Mellor, Richard Pitman, John Francome and Lord John Oaksey, all jumping a fence at Kempton Park in 1971, plus a framed photograph of the first fence in the 1966 Hennessy Gold Cup featuring Mellor on Stabridge Colonist, Pat Taaffe on Arkle and other runners, the lot also including a framed photograph taken on David Nicholson's wedding day in May 1962 featuring many racing celebrities which includes a every young Peter Scudamore with printed legend, (qty) Provenance: The Stan Mellor Collection Please be aware all glass will be removed from framed and glazed items prior to posting and may result in delays to shipping your items.
