Paul Gascoigne signed blue Radcliffe Borough No.15 home jersey v Manchester United played at Stainton Park on 24th July 2004, short-sleeved with club crest and sponsor logo, reverse numbered 15, signed in black marker pen to front, sold with the official match day programme, (2) Manchester United defeated Radcliffe Borough 2-1. Such was Paul Gascoigne's desire to play in this fixture at Radcliffe (around seven miles north of Manchester) that he flew in from Germany, where he had taken part in a charity game organised by Michael Schumacher, the Formula One world champion at the time. In front of 1,703 fans, packed into a tight Northern Premier League ground he completed 90 minutes. At 37 Gascoigne was no longer up to the mazy runs of his early years and barely left the centre circle all afternoon. He was still the best player on the pitch, such was the quality of his footwork and passing.
