Moneyglass, NI, 1974) is undoubtedly the greatest National Hunt jockey of all time, having ridden a record 4,358 winners and been champion jockey a record 20 consecutive times. He rode his first winner in 1992, aged 17, on the Flat at Thurles, before switching to jump racing. He won the conditional jump jockeys' title with a record 74 winners in his first season, was Champion Jockey for the first time in 1995-96 and then won the title every year until his retirement in 2015. McCoy has won almost every big race in the calendar including the Cheltenham Gold Cup, King George VI Chase and many others, but the Aintree Grand National eluded him until, at his 15th attempt, he won the great race in 2010 on Don't Push It, a victory which contributed to him being voted BBC TV Sports Personality of the Year. In 2016 he became the first National Hunt jockey to be knighted.
