An interesting scrapbook relating to the Scottish International Rugby Fly-Half and First-Class Cricketer John Harold Bruce Lockhart, comprising of a homemade scrapbook containing cut-out newspaper reports during his time at Jesus College, Cambridge from 1909 for which he was a Double Blue in rugby football and cricket and took over 100 wickets for Cambridge University. He appeared twice for Scotland at first class cricket level v Ireland 1910 in which he took 11 wickets and v All India Side 1911. Expanding to his rugby career representing Scotland and London Scottish at fly half, with a match programme for Scotland v Wales on the 1st February 1913. Lockhart was an amateur artist and member of the Lake Artists Society and exhibited watercolours at the Fine Art Society on 1st December 1954 and was also the headmaster at Sedbergh. The scrapbook containing newspaper cuttings, an addressed invitation for the Final Trial Match in Inverleith on 10th January 1920, a pencil signed menu card with other signatures, a colour photograph of his Ordre National De La Legion D'Honneur awarded May 1953, a exhibition card for the 1st December 1954 watercolour exhibition, a memorial service card 15th June 1956, a image from Tatler May 1909 of Lockhart, sold with a selection of Lacrosse programmes at Cambridge, Lords, Oxford v Cambridge, Scottish Football Union dinner menu in honour of the Welsh fifteen at Ryal Arch Halls on 7th February 1920 and further items, bears wear and tear, (qty) John Harold Bruce Lockhart (1889-1956) Scottish Cricketer and Rugby player, headmaster at Sedbergh and amateur artist.
