Miniature replica of the 1958-60 Trofeo 'Copa Ferias' Inter Fairs Cup winners trophy, awarded to Lazlo Kubala of Barcelona, silver-plated vase formed trophy with twin handles, upon an ebonised base, engraved TROFEO “COPA FERIAS” 1958-60, 17 by 5.5cm., wear to ebonised base In the 1958-60 Inter Fairs Cup Barcelona drew 0-0 with Birmingham City in the first leg but won the return leg 4-1. Laszlo Kubala (1927-2002) played in the second leg of this competition. Between 1951 and 1961 he made 186 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 131 goals, and was considered a club hero. He held three citizenships so played for Czechoslovakia, Spain, Catalonia and Europe XI in addition to his native Hungary, scoring 22 goals from a total of 34 appearances. A prolific striker and the mainstay of Barcelona's fine team of the 1950s, he had a statue erected in his honour at the club's Nou Camp stadium. Famed for his free kicks and ability to bend the ball, he later coached Barcelona and the Spanish national team as well as taking on many other appointments. Kubala's last assignment was as Paraguay's national coach in 1995.
