Sir Stirling Moss signed International Competition Licence, circa 1950s, signed double sided printed licence No.00007 featuring an applied b&w photograph of Moss, signed in black ink, with date of birth Sir Stirling Craufurd Moss, OBE, (1929-2020) has been described as "the greatest driver never to win the F1 World Championship". In a career lasting from 1948 until 1962, he won 212 of the 529 races he entered, including 16 F1 Grands Prix, and raced across several categories of competition, driving 84 different makes of cars during his career and excelling in sports cars and long-distance races as much as he did in F1. He retired following a crash in his Lotus at Goodwood from which he fully recovered despite being left in a month-long coma and with one side of his body paralysed for six months.
