James Braid handwritten letter to the editor of the Evening Standard, dated 3rd July 1926, in ink on letterhead, referring to the Evening Standard Target Golf Tournament Scottish professional golfer James Braid (1870-1950)  won the Open Championship five times was a renowned golf course architect and a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. Together with John Henry Taylor and Henry Vardon, he made up British golf's 'Great Triumvirate' - the three outstanding players combining to win the Open Championship 16 times in the 21 tournaments held between 1894 and 1914.
