This, the eleventh edition of the South American Championship, took place in Lima, Peru from 30th October to 27th November 1927. It was used as a qualifier for the 1928 Olympic Games and the participating teams were Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Uruguay (Brazil were among those who withdrew) and the tournament was won by Argentina.
