However, this information is incorrect, the colours are not those of the American owner. The label also suggests the colours of the second appear to be those of Mr Laurence Galway. "J.A.Wheeler of Bath was a well-known painter of Hunting and Racing subjects in the latter part of the last century [19th]. He exhibited at the R.B.A. in Suffolk Street in 1875. One of the most outstanding examples of his work - Fred Archer on Ormonde - may be seen at Boodle's in London. 12th October 1962."Provenance: from the Lester Piggott Collection.
