John Gidman (b. 1954) English footballer, having played for Aston Villa from 1971 to 1979, Everton from 1979 to 1981. Then with Manchester United from 1981 to 1986 with 120 appearances scoring 4 goals under Ron Atkinson, helping United win the FA Cup in 1983 and 1985. He moved to rivals Manchester City in 1986 to 1988 with 53 appearances scoring 1 goal, then to Stoke City in 1988 until 1989 and Darlington in 1989.
