George Stubbs ''The Anatomy of the Horse'', 3rd edition, 1899, published by Gibbings & Company, the hardback bound in tan leather with gilt tooling on the spine, marbled end papers the 153 pages comprising of text and illustrated plates, good rare example, clean condition with minor wear to the the hardcover edges In 1756 George Stubbs spent 18 months dissecting horses and in 1766 he published The Anatomy of the Horse. His original drawings are now in the collection of the Royal Academy.
