Polo trophy in the form of a hand-engraved lead crystal vase by Sandra Snaddon, signed to the base and dated 2006, finely engraved with a continuous band of four polo players and ponies in match action, height 13cm., fine condition Sandra Snaddon, who lives in North Yorkshire, is a Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers and has been engraving for over 30 years. She has held the position of Chairman of the Guild of Glass Engravers and Secretary of the Northern Branch of the Guild. Snaddon's engraving technique involves the use of a micro motor electric drill with diamond and stone burrs, which gives the smooth effect in the artist's preferred style of 'intaglio' engraving, producing a deep 3D effect. Sandra Snaddon mainly produce pieces for exhibitions and private commissions. These include polo trophies such as the present example.
