Two presentations to Bert Williams for England international appearances, both in the form of letter openers, the first presented by the Norwegian F.A. during the England end of season 1949 Tour; the other a gift from the Spanish F.A., inscribed to the blade ESPANA - INGLATERRA, MADRID, 18 MAYO 1955 Bert 'The Cat' Williams MBE (British, 1920 - 2014) an English international football goalkeeper, played with Wolverhampton Wanderers from 1945 to 1959, winning the FA Cup Final in 1949 against Leicester City and the League Championship title in 1953/54. Making his England debut on 22nd May 1949 against France, wining 3 - 1 in the match and keeping his position as England's goalkeeper through the 1950 FIFA World Cup where England were defeated by the USA, making twenty four England appearances from 1949 to 1955.
