A group of three broadsheet programmes for the Paris 1924 Olympic Games Costume Ball organised by the Union of Russian Artists in Paris, held at La Taverne de l'Olympia, 28 Bd des Capucines, Paris, 11th July 1924, all featuring a costume design by Gontcharova, 65 by 25cm., sports represented include boxing (Dempsey, Carpentier); wrestling (Strangler Lewis, US pro 1891-1966); tennis (Tilden, Lenglen); baseball (Babe Ruth); also cinema (Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbankes, Mary Pickford); aviation (Leonardo da Vinci, Wright Brothers, Bleriot), and plates by Matisse, Picasso and many Russian artists; two affixed with postage stamps; the lot including three separate French 1924 Olympics stamps (10, 25 and 60 French francs)
