A pair of Joe Bugner boxing gloves, red leather by Baily's of Glastonbury; together with a wooden display plaque with gilt titling from The National Sporting Club (3) Provenance: The Roland Dakin Collection, Bonham's, 2nd August 1994, lot 783B. Described in the auction catalogue as being from a wight in Wolverhampton. Roland Dakin was a British Boxing Board of Control referee for 38 years and presided over 40 World Fight titles. He was avid collector of boxing memorabilia and his professional capacity gave him wonderful access to leading boxing personalities.
