Fred Rimell's racing binoculars, Zeiss 1293234 Delactis 8x40mm, attached with metal tag engraved with Fred Rimell's name, telephone number and Ryall Place stables address. Thomas Frederick (''Fred'') Rimell (1913-1981) was one of the 20th century's most distinguished National Hunt trainers. He gained the title ''Mr Grand National'', sending out four winners of the race (ESB, Nicolaus Silver, Gay Trip and Rag Trade) from his Kinnersley, Worcestershire base, a record shared only with Red Rum's trainer Ginger McCain. Rimell originally rode on the Flat and over jumps, was Champion NH jockey on four occasions and later captured the trainers' title also four times. He trained the winners of most of the top NH races, including two Cheltenham Gold Cups and two Champion Hurdles.
