Alan Oakes came up through the youth ranks at Maine Road and made 680 League & Cup appearances for Manchester City between 1959 and 1976, easily an all-time club record. The only other player to exceed 600 games is goalkeeper Joe Corrigan. In addition to his F.A. Cup medal.
