Rare Victorian oak lawn tennis equipment box dated 1890, with a hand-carved cartouche to the outer surface of the lid, the panel shows a pair of lawn tennis rackets and balls along with the initials 'H.J.W.' and the date 1890, unusually the box is lined with felt and fitted with decorative brass protective corner pieces, carrying handles and a lock (no key), 84 by 28 by 17cm.
