Johnny Haynes white England No.10 jersey worn in the match v Scotland at Hampden Park 14th April 1962, short-sleeved Bukta v-neck, unwashed, the interior bearing various Tottenham Hotspur dedicated signatures explained in the footnote below This jersey was gained as a swap by Scotland's John White. John White later had the shirt signed by various Spurs team-mates mostly with a presentation inscription to ''Stephen''. The signatures comprise John White, John Robertson, Dave Mackay, Eddie Clayton & Alan Gilzean. The match details relating to the shirt has also been inscribed by John White, although he had forgotten the correct scoreline writing ''1-0'' instead of the correct 2-0 victory achieved by Scotland at Hampden. Johnny Haynes was winning his 50th England cap in this match and was captain for the game. After returning from the 1962 World Cup Haynes was involved in a serious car accident and he never played for England again. John White was tragically killed by a lightning strike on Crews Hill Golf Course in July 1964.
