Cup competition took two matches to determine a winner. The Final Tie between Barnsley and West Bromwich Albion took place at The Crystal Palace on 20th April 1912 and ended in a goalless draw. The replay was played at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane ground on 24th April and the stalemate was not broken until two minutes before the end of extra-time when Barnsley's Tufnell scored the winner.
