A collection of 46 bound volumes of ''Tennis De France'' magazine, French language, from issue No.1 published in May 1953, and then an unbroken run until No.488 published in December 1993; the lot further including 13 loose magazines, issues 501-513 (January 1995 - June 1998) Tennis de France magazine was founded by the former French tennis player Philippe Chatrier in 1953. He was also sports and news editor for the daily newspaper Paris-Presse. Chatrier was later President of the French Tennis Federation, a post he held for 20 years between 1973 and 1993, and was also President of the International Tennis Federation for 14 years, 1977 to 1991. Following his death in 2000, the main tennis court at Roland-Garros was renamed Court Philippe Chatrier in his honour.
