A collection of original boxing & sporting artworks, comprising a cartoon for the Evening Standard cartoon set outside Earl's Court before the Freddie Mills v Joey Maxim World Light Heavyweight Title boxing match 24th January 1950, signed, pen & ink and blue crayon, the cartoon featuring a political campaigner ahead of the 1950 General Election being forcibly ejected from the arena by a doorman with the caption reading ''... AND THIS TIME STAY OUT. WE INTEND TO HAVE ONE EVENING FREE FROM POLITICS ... QUARELLING ... FIGHTING !'', mounted, framed & glazed, overall 48 by 38cm.; a Tom Webster cartoon of the boxer Ted ''Kid'' Lewis, pen & ink drawing, captioned ''KID'' LEWIS SMILED AND SMILED IN HIS CORNER BUT HAD FIGHT IN HIS HEART, 19 by 16cm.; sold with a signed manuscript letter from Webster, 27.10.1939, regarding the presentation of this picture; and a group of Eric Thompson original sporting caricatures, pen & ink cartoons, cricket the best represented sport, also football, rugby, lacrosse, cycling, tennis, rowing, racing, golf etc.
