A winter Maccabiah was first held in Poland in 1933. The present medal comes from the 2nd Winter Maccabiah which was staged February 18th to 22nd, 1936, in Banska Bystrica the in Czechoslovakia. 2,000 athletes participated from 12 participating nations.
