£200 - £300
An archive of postcards sent by the British football manager Bob Houghton, and or his wife Nerise, mostly addressed to his parents Douglas and Peggy Houghton, or his paternal grandmother Florence, most of the postcards were sent during the 1970s and 1980s when Bob Houghton held coaching positions in Sweden and all over the world, he is particularly associated with Malmo FF where under his stewardship they won three Championship titles and got to a European Cup Final in 1979 losing to Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest, the lot also containing some empty correspondence envelopes, kept probably because of the foreign postage stamps Bob Houghton went to the same school as Roy Hodgson in Croydon and the two coaches as well as their families were close friends. One of the cards in the lot is signed ''Roy'' and addressed to Bob's father.
