1933 F.A. Cup winner's medal awarded to Billy Cook of Everton, 14ct. gold, the reverse inscribed THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, F.A. CHALLENGE CUP, 1932-33, WINNERS, EVERTON F.C., W. COOK, in original fitted case Billy Cook played at right-back during Everton's 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the F.A. Cup Final at Wembley on 29th April 1933. Cook was born at Coleraine, Northern Ireland, 20th January 1909. In 1932 Everton signed the defender from Celtic where he had won a Scottish Cup winner's medal. Cook made 250 appearances for the Merseyside club and won a Championship medal in 1938-39. He also made 15 international appearances for Ireland. After the War, and having played for Wrexham, Ellesmere Port Town and Rhyl until 1947, he moved into management. He led a varied career which included spells as the national coach of Peru and Iraq, as well as Football League clubs Sunderland, Norwich City and others.
