Watford Rovers Football Club cap from their foundation year of 1881, the red cap with gilt-wire inscription WRFC, 1881 Watford Rovers were formed in 1881 by Henry Groverand. Their first trophy came in 1889 when they won the Hertfordshire County Cup. They renamed as West Hertfordshire in 1893 then following a merger with local rivals Watford St Mary's in 1898 became simply known as Watford FC as they are today. This cap must surely be one of the oldest artefacts in existence for Watford Football Club.
