A signed manuscript letter from the celebrated Irish motorcycle racer Stanley Woods, in ink on his personal headed paper, Mount Merrion Park, Blackrock, Dublin, dated 18th June 1938; sold together with a later Stanley Woods signature on a 'Babycham' branded notelet dated June 2nd 1979; the lot also including other sporting autographs all relating to events held on the Isle of Man and including a Joe Davis signed snooker & billiard exhibition programme, a Peter Alliss signed Peel Golf Club invitation, and celebrity charity day programme pages bearing the autographs of football's Bobby Charlton & Kenneth Wolstenholme, the snooker players Steve Davis & John Spencer, the entertainer Ronnie Corbett, and others The date of the letter in this lot is just after the 1938 T.T. Races, during which Woods won the Junior T.T. race. The letter is addressed to a Mr Corbett and concerns the purchase/exchange of suits.
