McDONELL This medal is from the 2nd Louth Senior Football Championship. Young Irelands (Dundalk), the inaugural winners in 1887, won the competition again in 1888 - beating John Dillons. Dundalk Young Irelands also appeared in the very first All-Ireland Football Final where they were defeated by Commercials of Limerick.
