A photograph of Fred Perry at the Slazenger's factory with his Hollywood friend, the actor Walter Pidgeon, who can be seen looking at one of the racquets that Perry had been play testing for the following season, the man in the white coat is Mr Barnes from Slazenger's Tournament Department, 9 by 7in., in a picture frame; the lot comes with a trio of white unstrung and ungripped racquets with different numbers of trim on the shoulders, these indicated whether the racquet was head heavy or even balance and its weight, these racquets come from the same Fred Perry play test group as featured in the subject matter of the photograph, indeed some unfinished Slazenger factory racquets can be seen hanging from the wall brackets in the photo; also included in this lot is a Baby Pathe film of Perry's match in 1935 that secured the Davis Cup for Great Britain (5)
