The full playing kit worn by Pele in his final competitive career football match in the NASL Championship Soccer Bowl for Cosmos v Seattle Sounders at the Civic Stadium, Portland, Oregon, 28th August 1977, comprising: a green and white trimmed Cosmos short-sleeved jersey numbered 10 to the chest, right-sleeve and back, additionally lettered to the reverse PELE; together with a pair of white No.10 shorts, and a pair of green socks (4) Pele's final match resulted in him winning a Championship Ring. Cosmos defeated the Sounders 2-1 making it a bitter sweet day for his army or adoring fans. Charles Martinelli, the team's equipment manager, recalls Pele being in an uncharacteristically sober and quiet mood prior to the game, keeping himself to himself clearly in contemplation of his professional soccer curtain call. He also recalls the determination of Pele's team-mates to ensure that the 'Black Pearl' would go out on a high - and so it was to prove. In the 2-1 victory the Cosmos goals were scored by Englishman Steve Hunt and Italian favourite Giorgio Chinaglia. In between the former Chelsea player Tommy Ord had equalised for the Sounders.
