Watkins Glen memorabilia 1952 to 1981, comprising two original large posters for the 1977 and 1980 United States Grands Prix, both after Michael Turner and with event tickets, a 1980 Indy Car World Series original large event poster and race day ticket, a 1981 Glen Racing News 'Indy Cars Return' headlined newspaper, a Paddock Pass for the 1978 Six Hours Trans-Am/Can-Am Gold Cup event, programmes for the 1952 and 1956 International Sports Car Grand Prix, the former in fine condition, the latter with racecard insert (10) First used in 1948, the original 6.6-mile track ran through the small town of Watkins Glen, until a serious fatal accident in 1952 saw the race stopped after two laps and the circuit moved to other nearby public roads. Today's permanent upper New York state race circuit first opened in 1956.
