A collection of commemorative items relating to the Victorian jockey Fred Archer, comprising: i) an earthenware jug circa 1886, black transfer printed decoration featuring Archer aboard Ormonde and a head & shoulders portrait to reverse, inscribed with his birth & death dates and career details, underside marked Rd. No. 63356, John Fennell, Manchester, height 11cm., 4 1/4in., handle restored; ii) a mug with similar decoration bearing the same Rd. No., brown transfer decoration, poor condition with cracks and chips; iii) a Prattware jug circa 1886, portrayed either side aboard a racehorse and inscribed F.ARCHER, the handle's thumbpiece designed as a jockey cap, height 16cm., 6 1/4in., chip to spout, crack near jockey's head; iv) a Staffordshire pottery plate circa 1886, from the Wallis Gimson and Co. Portrait Series, octagonal, registered design number 41050, black transfer printed portrait of Fred Archer and his racing achievements, surrounded by coloured floral decoration, good condition, diameter 24cm., 9 1/2in.; v) a similar plate with plain black decoration and in poor condition; vi) a Victorian clay smoker's pipe, inscribed DONOVAN, and the bowl with a named portrait of Archer and an image of a racehorse & jockey
