An original artwork featuring the professional footballer and golf professional Jimmy Cantrell for an advertisement for the 'Old Corner Pin' public house in Parliament Street, Nottingham, signed Will Weber and dated 1928, variously referencing Cantrell's prominence in the worlds of football and golf, and with a central depictinon of him riding a flying golf bag in Tottenham Hotspur kit, mounted, framed & glazed, overall 61 by 48cm., 24 by 19in. Jimmy Cantrell began his career at Aston Villa before moving to Notts County for whom he made 131 League appearances between 1907 and 1912. The centre-forward was then bought by Tottenham Hotspur where he won a F.A. Cup winner's medal and a Football League Division Two Championship medal. After his football career, Cantrell returned to the Nottingham area where he became a golf professional.
