Winter, Derby'', inscribed in pencil to the reverse ''Hawley 4'', losses to corners of mount The Hawley family established in the late 17th century had estates in Derby as well as Somerset and Dorset. So this school may have had connections with the Hawley's Derby Estate. Walter William Winter open his photographic studio in 1867 and his successors are still working in the same premises making it the longest established, surviving photographic business in the United Kingdom, and one of the oldest in the world.
