A scarce card mounted photographic print showing the gathering of tennis enthusiasts to witness an encounter between Geoffrey Frederick Covey (England) and Walter Kinsella (USA) at Prince's Club in 1923, published by the Stuart Studios of 47-49 Brompton Street, London, 30.5 by 25.5cm., 12 by 10in. Fred Covey, who had been World Tennis Champion in 1912 and then 1916-27, was the victor by 7 sets to 3, despite being down by 3 sets to love. Walter Kinsella was world squash champion from 1914-1926 but lost three challenge matches for the world championship of tennis.
