Golf Interest: a group of memorabilia from the Samuel and James Ryder family archive, i) a bronze portrait bust off James Ryder, signed W. Lismore, rich brown patina, height 51cm., 20in. ii) a large photograph depicting the Management and Staff of their business Heath & Heather Ltd., dated June 1929, with Samuel and James Ryder at the forefront, left and right respectively. iii) a group of eight trade booklets covering three decades of Heath and Heather Ltd., each Booklet with annual notes & comments from Samuel and latterly in 1937 a tribute from the family following the Ryder Cup founder's death on 2nd January 1936. Included in this lot is a 1935 booklet where Samuel Ryder in his capacity as The Managing Director of Ryder & Son (1920) Ltd, Seed Specialists St Albans, and Director of Heath & Heather Ltd, writes a reference to Athletes (Golfers in particular) stating the following: ''As my customers are probably aware I am intimately associated with ''Sport'', particularly Golf, being the donor of the Ryder Cup. It has been interesting for me to note how much benefit athletes have obtained by using our remedies. They are so good to recommend them to our friends.'' Provenance: James Ryder and hence by family descent.
