A rare hallmarked .800 silver 1930 World Cup medal, Italian silver, 9.8gr., the only one ever seen by the auctioneer, usually they are silver plated, the medal was originally bought at Bonham's 28th January 2004 lot 503 who stated in the catalogue that ''only three medals in silver are known to exist, it is thought that these may be samples sent from the mint of Stefano Johnson, Milan who received instruction from the Uruguayan Football Association. It is certain that the copper medal of this design went into production as it is commonly found in Uruguay'', and silver plated examples have appeared as well
