Cup Final, the jersey short-sleeved and inscribed FA CUP FINALISTS, CARDIFF 2006, sleeve badges inscribed THE FA CUP, 125, the reverse with gold numbering and lettered NEWTON, the white shorts numbered in gold 26 (2) West Ham United's kit manufacturer's Reebok would have prepared uniform for each West Ham squad member in anticipation of them being selected by the manager for the 2006 F.A. Cup Final v Liverpool at the Millennium Stadium. Shaun Newton was not selected for the team or bench and consequently the shirt was never required. Newton had in fact tested positive for cocaine following West Ham's semi-final victory over Middlesbrough and as a consequence later received a seven months ban by the Football Association following the outcome of a disciplinary committee hearing.
