Joe Hulme's red Arsenal jersey from the F.A. Cup Final v Newcastle United at Wembley 23rd April 1932, by Bukta and with a label inscribed PRESENTED TO A GOOD SPORTSMAN BY TOM WEBSTER, long-sleeved, the badge with AFC crest and dated 1932 Joe Hulme was born in Stafford 26th August 1904. He was a fine all-round sportsman who played 225 times for Middlesex County Cricket Club as well as being a top-flight footballer for Arsenal and England. Herbert Chapman signed the right-winger from Blackburn Rovers in 1926 and made a total of 333 League appearances for the Gunners scoring 107 goals. At Arsenal Hulme won four League Championship medals, two F.A. Cup winner's medal and two Cup runners-up medals. He was also capped for England nine times between 1927 and 1933. This shirt was from the 1932 F.A. Cup Final when Arsenal were defeated 2-1 by Newcastle United.
