Rare Gerhard Mitter signed 1967 Swiss hillclimb and four other signed F1 postal covers, his ink signature titled '#1', bearing an embossed Official Swiss Mobile Post Office motif, dated 26 August 1967 and bearing a special Ollon-Villars European Hillclimb Championship frank mark; also a Jack Brabham, Stirling Moss and John Surtees signed British Motor Cars cover, franked Austin 7 60th Anniversary and dated 13 October 1982, a Nigel Mansell signed Double World Champion IOM cover franked 1993 Indycar Champion and dated 3/10/93, plus two John Surtees signed Goodwood Festival 1997 Red Arrows Aerobatic Team IOM limited edition covers no.s 16 and 17 out of 50 (5) Gerhard Mitter was a talented young German who finished fourth in his second F1 Grand Prix before joining Porsche and becoming a three-time European Hillclimb Champion 1966-68. In 1969 he moved to BMW and was sadly killed while practising for the German GP when it is believed a wheel came off.
