The signed riding boots worn by A P McCoy when riding his 4,000th winner aboard ''Mountain Tunes'' at Towcester 7th November 2013, both boots signed by Tony McCoy and inscribed 4000; sold together with an auction agreement & invoice relating to the purchase of the boots at the Peter O'Sullevan Charitable Trust annual awards lunch; a signed letter of authenticity from A P McCoy on his personal headed paper confirming these were the boots he wore on the historic day (4) After 20 seasons in the saddle in Britain, Tony McCoy still continues to extend record book achievements in the sport of National Hunt Racing to levels that would have been thought unthinkable in generations past. A.P.'s most recent milestone was riding his 4,000th winner during the 2013/14 season. When Peter Scudamore retired in 1993 he had raised the bar to 1,678 career wins over jumps albeit at a time before all year round racing under National Hunt Rules. A.P.McCoy's first season in England was as a conditional rider to Toby Balding's yard in 1994-95 and he finished this as leading rider in this intermediate level with 74 wins. Thereafter Tony McCoy has been Champion Jockey for a remarkable 19 seasons in succession. In 1997-98 he surpassed Scudamore's seasonal best of 221 wins winning 253 races and in 2001-02 became the winning-most jockey in a season on the flat or over jumps recording 289 victories, beating Sir Gordon Richards's long standing total of 269 flat race winners set in 1947.
