A souvenir of the James Jeffries v Jack Johnson at Reno, Nevada 4th July 1910, in the form of a printed cotton square depicting the fight and also featuring the referee ''Tex'' Rickard, mounted under Perspex with a tile plaque reading ''Gifted to Archie Moore by Jack Johnson - from the Archie Moore Estate'', framed, 64 by 61cm, 25 by 24 in., sold together with a signed letter of authenticity from Jerry Haack, a file containing historical information about the Johnson - Jeffries fight, A. Rozen's book ''America On The Ropes, a Pictorial History of the Johnson - Jeffries Fight'' (4) On 4 July 1910 Jack Johnson (the Galveston Giant) won the ''Battle of the Century'' after 15 rounds against James Jeffries (The Boilermaker). Johnson's victory sparked both celebrations and riots as he was the first black African American Heavyweight Champion of the World, a title he held until 1915.
