A period photograph of the Celtic and Hearts teams posing before the match marking the opening of the new stand at Celtic Park in 1929, the image 10 by 18in., pasted typescript legend to lower mount, in original frame now lacking the glass, overall 47 by 59cm., 18 1/2 by 23in.; sold together with a copy of Celtic Football Club 1887-1967 by Tom Campbell and Pat Woods which contains a reproduction of this photograph on p.40 (2) The New Stand at Celtic Park replaced the demolished 'Grant Stand' and accommodated 4,800 spectators. The occasion was the first game of the 1929/30 football season on 10th August. Celtic won the match 2-1.
