1969-1971 Formula One Constructors Association communiqu?s sent to Rob Walker, approximately fifty separate FOCA items distributed internally to members between February 1969 and November 1971, comprising meeting minutes, agreements, memoranda, technical reports, CSI/FIA updates, overseas race promoter and trade correspondence, all as sent by secretary Andrew Ferguson, including an original signed letter of welcome, plus membership invoice and statement, the remainder mostly fax machine copies, some on duplicate paper, some items in poor condition, but all text and hand-written margin notes still legible; together with a 1960s Rob Walker plexi-glass and aluminium ROB 2 vehicle registration plate, as displayed on his Mercedes-Benz 300SLR, plus a party invitation from the Walkers to business partners the Durlachers (qty.) Rob Walker's team was involved in Formula One for over 20 years and took nine Grand Prix victories, including the last ever by a private entrant when Jo Siffert won at Brands Hatch in 1968. He became a FOCA member at the start of 1970, after Andrew Ferguson became its full-time secretary with the aim of strengthening its negotiations with race promoters and having its voice heard by the FIA in Paris on matters such as safety aspects, prize monies and logistical matters. After nine years as competitions manager at Team Lotus, Ferguson would remain in this new position until FICA (F1 Constructors that is!) was formed in 1974 and the Ecclestone-Mosley era began in earnest. It was around this time that Rob Walker decided to retire as an F1 entrant.
