She won three gold medals at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games and famously was the first gymnast to record a perfect score of 10 for her performance on the uneven bars. The Omega scoreboard was only designed to display three digits and therefore displayed a score of 1.00 which caused a momentary delay before spectators at the Montreal Forum gave her a standing ovation. Comaneci won two further gold medals at Moscow in 1980 taking her career tally of medals of all colours to nine. She received the Olympic Order, the highest award given by the IOC, on two occasions in 1984 and 2004 and is the only person two have achieved this. Nadia was also inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
