Cup final Eric Cantona swapped shirts with John Barnes. On returning to the Liverpool dressing room, and in a gesture of immense frustration, Barnes through Cantona's shirt onto the floor. Neil Ruddock, who had not been selected to play or for the bench, picked up the shirt and asked if he could keep it as a memento for the disappointment of not being a part of proceedings, which John Barnes agreed to. Neil Ruddock kept the shirt in his possession thereafter.
