An athletics relay baton used at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, VERY RARE SURVIVAL: varnished wood, printed maker's mark for Berg, inscribed Olympia-Gerat above the Games bell insignia, length 30cm., 11 3/4in. This baton belonged to the German sprinter Erwin Gillmeister who won a bronze medal as part of the 4 x 100m team at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games.
