A silver tennis trophy, in the form of a lightly hammered bowl hallmarked London, 1922, drop handles suspended from lion masks, presentation inscription for Mrs Satterthwaite and Miss Harvey, winners of the Ladies' Doubles at the Harpenden Lawn Tennis Tournament in 1922, diameter 11cm., 4 1/4in. Phyllis Satterthwaite was described by Lance Tingay as ''a notoriously sticky performer.'' She reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon on five occasions. Mrs Satterthwaite also set up a record of 450 strokes in a final on the Riviera that lasted approx. 19 1/2 minutes.
