Joos Valgaeren was signed for £2 million by Martin O'Neill in 2000 from Dutch club Roda JC. He was an instant success and made 116 League appearances. At international level he was capped 19 times by Belgium between 2000 and 2003 and was in the squad for Euro 2000.
